Sad and Wonderful (and Carpal Tunnel)
Todays magic brought to you by xkcd.
My Favourite moments were the lemonade stand and the jelly fish. Neither of which were in there expected milieu.
*WARNING*: Be prepared to lose at least an hour of your time and possibly the use of your dominant hand. I estimated that it takes somewhere between 250 to 300 horizontal drags to get from end to end. Don’t ask me about vertical. It’s frickin’ endless. I know I missed some stuff.
Any favourite bits? Of the comic, I mean.
Addendum: I fixed the link. Clicking the image should work now.

I enjoyed that :)
Hard not to, huh?
Definitely like the Super Mario Bros bit. Also, “I found some more CD’s….Pull”
Did you go down the tunnel? You’ll get lost for 3 days. The CD part was funny. I knew I was keeping mine for some reason. Not because I am hopelessly uncool.
Tunnel? I’ll be back
I also liked the part about the wiki page saying it was a good view.
There’s so many little gems. I don’t understand some of them (is fence post a math term?)
You got me. I’m good at math, just not that kind’
I love xkcd!!! I like you even more now! I could have clicked and dragged that one for ages but have to run. There are probably tons of math references that I’m not getting but it’s fun all the same. I didn’t get the fencepost one either. My favourite comic on that site is two guys sitting in a cafe. One says to the waiter “I’ll have H20″. The other guys says, I’ll have H20 too”. He croaks (from drinking H202) and the other guy just says “idiot”.
Genius Level WebComic. Try here http://xkcd-map.rent-a-geek.de/ It’s a zoom in/zoom out version that makes it easier to discover (if you hate magic and like fastiness).
Amazing – so much just outside our field of view.
What a lovely metaphor, no?
:)
Thanks for providing me with a way of blowing off all my work this afternoon. And evening.
Don’t hate.
No hating. I was serious. I really didn’t want to work.
Then that’ll be $13.50 please.
If you want http://xkcd-map.rent-a-geek.de/ for a more user friendly (but less meaningful, and kind of soulless).
I’ll check it out, but I prefer my time-wasting activities to be personally meaningful and profound. And I’ll fax you a check for the $13.50.
Holy hell that was clever. The whale had me cracking up. I was not expecting that. I want to go back later when I have more time and keep looking.
Which whale? Ooohhh. I’ve got you thinking now, don’t I.

This is the first thing I’ve reblogged! This is a moment people. This is too cool. I must share.
Wha!!?? Lil’ ol’ me?
I feel so close to you right now.
What a nice comic to share for today. The world is exactly like that!
I agree! I thought it was a perfect microcosm of how we experience the world. Or do I mean metaphor? How about a microphor.
Also a microphor sounds like a really fancy facial… ex. pardon me I’m late for my microphor! Or maybe it sounds like a lazer of mass destruction… Joker, put down that microphor!
I liked the flagpole sitta. So random. That was great, thanks for sharing. I’m sure I missed stuff too.
So many little treasures.
Whoa, this was exactly what I needed while drinking a beer. So mindless and fun.
I love xkcd and this was a truly epic comic. I couldn’t spend more than 10 minutes on it (so I missed a ton) because I was at a travel thingy the day it came out, but wow, that was a good one.
A webcomic opus to be sure.
